Niragongo - Kongo
Overview
The most special part of this expedition is the camp where we will spend three nights on the rim of the giant crater of the Niragongo volcano, directly above the raging lava, and the trek through dense forests where we will observe some mountain gorillas in the Virunga Volcanoes Park. A visit to the volcano's observatory in the town of Goma, where life has sprouted again on the ash after its eruption in 2002, the beautiful landscapes along the way, the friendly people, good accommodation and food make this a trip to remember.
